It was a beautiful fall, so the bus got out and about for a few more trips before the cold weather arrived. Folks took a drive to see the Fall Art D’Tour, marveling at the interesting and creative outdoor displays. They also went to Oakwood Fruit Farm in Richland Center. Everyone enjoyed delicious cider and doughnuts and Activity Director Brenda bought apples for a baking project coming up in November. Keeping with the apple theme, volunteers Barb and Ralph gave a demonstration on dehydrating apples and gifted some of the delicious treats to eat as snacks and in desserts. We love to have resident-led activities, and this month one of the ladies gave a talk about the beautiful blankets her mother crocheted and resident Dick gave a program about stress and strategies for recognizing and dealing with it. The month ended with visits from Leah Spicer, a candidate running for Wisconsin Assembly, and staff member DarylAnn’s grandson, who won the hearts of all!
