November started with a fascinating trip to the University of Wisconsin Geology Museum in Madison. Folks created some beautiful birds based on the art of Maurits Cornelis Escher, a Dutch graphic artist, and they baked a Ukrainian Sharlotka, an apple cake made with just a few ingredients. It was interesting to learn about the resourcefulness of women from the old Soviet Block countries. Therapy dog Ginger and her owner, Richard, paid a visit; as well as Pastor Kendall from Spring Green Community Church, and Patricia and one of her students from the Blue Accordion. The highlight of the month was Veterans Day, which included a dramatic portrayal of a Civil War nurse and quilt presentations to resident veterans Ed, Dick, David and Wanda. Thank you to members of the Spring Green American Legion and Arena VFW Post 9336 for joining us and bringing cards for our veterans. To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
