October was full of fall fun! Some of the ladies made yummy apple pies with apples purchased on their trip to the orchard. Sue and her beautiful dog, Luna, stopped by, as did Ophelia, the daughter of a staff member, who lent a hand in bingo! Folks took a scenic drive to enjoy the gorgeous fall colors and created pumpkin centerpieces out of artificial flowers. Thank you to the 4th grade students from St. John the Evangelist School in Spring Green for their visit, and to Deb and Kathleen of the River Valley Stitchers for honoring resident veteran Byron with a beautiful Veteran’s Quilt made by the group. At the end of the month, folks baked and decorated Cinnamon Chocolate Cookies to commemorate the Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday traditionally celebrated around Halloween.
